Community Pickleball Doubles Tournament

ABOUT THE EVENT

Date and Time: Saturday, September 14th, 2024 Begins 9:00 A.M. Check In: 8:30 A.M.

Location: Woodland Middle School - 7000 Washington St. Gurnee, IL 60031

Price: $80 per team (May 27th- August 23rd)

4 Divisions: Beginner (social players 14+), Competitive (experienced players 14+), Woodland Staff Members, Gurnee Municipalities

Join us on September 14th at Woodland Middle School for the Woodland Educational Foundation's inaugural community Pickleball Tournament. This will be a doubles tournament with four divisions: Division 1 - Competitive (for experienced players 14+), Division 2 - Social (for beginners and for fun 14+), Division 3 - Municipalities (open to fun competition between Gurnee Police Department, Gurnee Fire Department, Gurnee Village Hall, Gurnee Public Works, Gurnee Park District and Warren Newport Library), Division 4 - Woodland School District 50 Staff Members. We will not have separate men's and women's divisions, so teams can be comprised however you like. There will be championship cash prizes for 1st and 2nd place in each division! Tournament registration fee is $80 per team.

All proceeds will go to support the Woodland Educational Foundation and our mission to creatively generate and distribute resources with which to enrich and enhance the opportunities and educational experiences of Woodland Community Consolidated School District #50 students in pursuit of “Learning...to Find Solutions”.

 

Your tournament fee includes:

A swag bag and t-shirt for each player.

Format:

  • All participants must be ready to play and in the gymnasium 15 minutes prior to their start times.

  • Any team who is not present at their start time risks being forfeited from that game.

  • Be respectful to the teams playing, no coaching or line calls from the sidelines.

  • Games will adhere to a Round Robin format. A 20 minute maximum time will be allotted for all Round Robin games.

  • All games will be played until a team reaches 11 points. First to 11, not win by 2.

  • All Playoff games played to 11, win by 2.

  • All line calls to be undisputed and made by the team on the side the ball landed.

  • Fair play at all times, no disputes - if a call is undecided, ball is in.

  • No spectators allowed on the courts. Spectator seating in upper bleachers.

  • Based on the number of registrants, a schedule of teams and times will be produced and posted by 9/01/24.

Other Information:​

  • Food and drinks will be available for purchase - food proceeds will help support the Woodland Music Boosters and Warren Cheer 

  • There will be a silent auction with winners being announced at the end of the event. Must be present to win.

  • Please note, the tournament is unsanctioned and there will be no referees on site. This is considered an open tournament with no ratings. Let’s have fun! No refunds available. If the tournament is canceled due to unforeseen events your entry fee will become a tax-deductible donation.
